What Are the RDOF Requirements?
The RDOF uses a two-phase, competitive reverse auction that prioritizes higher network speeds and lower latency to ensure the deployment of robust and sustainable high-speed networks to rural areas.
Eligibility
Winning providers must offer both voice and broadband services to areas that previously lacked broadband services of 25/3 Mbps.
Phase I
$16 billion will be made available to areas that are completely unserved by any existing broadband provider. This is underway.
Phase II
$4.4 billion plus any remaining Phase I funds will be made available to partially served areas and those not completed in Phase I.
